Ghost Gums have a deep connection with the Aboriginal people. At night time the trees would glow and come to life. This showed the Aboriginal people that there were living spirits in the Ghost Gums. 
For the Aboriginal people, the Ghost Gum represents the division of the underworld, earth and heaven. The eucalyptus leaf is also often believed to have purifying effects, as negative energy disappears in the place where you burn it. 
Eucalyptus trees posses both inner and outer strength.
